Little Froggies

「井の中の蛙、大海を知らず」って言うけどさ。たまにね、思うのだよ。

蛙は、もっと広い世界があることを知る機会がなかっただけだったんじゃないかって。もしかしたら、広い世界があることを夢見てたかもしれないのに、井戸から這い上がる方法を知らなかっただけかもよ？　とかね。

私の仕事は無邪気なカエル君たちに広い世界を教えてあげること。
いろんな文化や言語や国や人種から、地球は成り立ってるんだよっていっぱいいっぱい教えてあげるんだ。
　
そこからね、何か感じてくれればいい。

カエル君たちがいつかそんな多文化、多国籍に興味を持って、何十年かして大人になって、「マリコ、ジャパン行って来たでー」って楽しそうに話してくれたらそんな嬉しいことはないもん！

よし。妄想ストップ。

Here are the tips to pursue happiness from the person who I most love and trust. Some people might say, "that's cool, but it's easier said than done." I used to be one of them. At times I was playing the hypocrite and acted as if I believed all the messages that were full of hope and inspiration....but something deep down on the inside always hesitated to fully accept the positive messages. Life isn't always rosy, there may be more cloudy days and rainy days than the sunshine. Just like the Melbourne weather, ha! Well, though life can be pretty tough at times, there's always an option for us to choose from. When a situation hits rock bottom, I can continue on believing that it will go down or believe that it will rise again. Having a faith and stretching for hope need a heck of an energy; and you need to be courageous to continue to strive for them, but really, what can be scarier than giving up or entirely losing hope.
I made the best choice today. The bold choice to fight back at those thoughts of doubts, skepticism, negativity, hatred, racism, anger and fear I carry.

My Babies

I believe that flowers are responder. Generally it is said that flowers rely on sunshine and water (rain) to survive; but I have to add another important thing for them to respond. It is affection. When the flowers receive all three of them, they respond by blossoming into gorgeous beauty. I had been feeding my dear flowers everyday with cold water with a cube of sugar mixed inside. When I change water, I take them out one by one from a vase and gently wash the stem of each flower. They are very quiet, but really, more you love them they will respond to you by blossoming into a beauty. My babies are in a good condition for two weeks now.

I wonder.....can human respond the same as well?

A Little Miracle

My good friend from high school just gave birth to a healthy baby boy. He arrived on the 22nd November. Japanese love developing a way of using numbers as words, which in turn means that many dates take on special meaning for Japanese people. For instance, November 22 can be read as "ii fuufu" in Japanese which means a "good couple". A lot of people actually follow this superstition and believe that getting married on this particular date will not only bring good luck to the couple, but also make them a very special couple.
So, my friend's baby was born on November 22 that's renown for its 'Good Couple' day...I am sending up prayers for my friend's little miracle and wishing her bunches of fun and happiness with him. Congratulations sweetie!
